Email Campaign Drives 5,400 Visitors to Daytona Beach Website in 24 Hours

History

Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (DBACVB) are the official travel resource for visitors to the Daytona Beach area. The Pepsi 400 is just one of the many fabulous racing events that make Daytona Beach such an exciting destination.

Challenge

The goal of the Pepsi 400 sweepstakes was to reach potential visitors to the Daytona Beach area who were planning a 4th of July vacation and encourage them to visit Daytona Beach for the amazing racing event that was taking place during the 4th of July weekend.


“Upon the recommendation of the experts at .Com Marketing, the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau did a special “Tickets Giveaway” offer online for the July 4th Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway. In only a 24 hour period, over 2,000 members of Weather Bug had enrolled in the contest – most asking for more information about the area – for future vacations. All in all, the Weather Bug project was one of the most successful online programs we have had the opportunity to be a part of.”

Process

The DBACVB supplied two free tickets to the Pepsi 400 and .Com Marketing developed an enticing HTML email to promote the event and the giveaway. .Com Marketing purchased a geo-targeted email database from WeatherBug and deployed this exciting promotional email to residents of the Southeast, interested in travel. When an email recipient received the email, they could complete a short form and enter to win two tickets to one of the most popular racing events in the US, compliments of the DBACVB.

Results

Purposely scheduled one month before the event. Within 24 hours the DBACVB received 5,400 unique visitors to the DBACVB website directly from this email promotion.
